Department of Energy Student Opportunities
The Department of Energy Office of Science offers paid internship programs for community college and undergraduate students interested in STEM fields. These programs provide hands-on research experience at national laboratories.

DOE Community College
Internship (CCI)
- •10-week, full-time summer internship at a DOE national laboratory or site.
- •Work on research and technology projects alongside laboratory scientists and engineers.
- •Receive mentorship and develop research skills in a professional laboratory setting.
- •Opportunities to attend seminars, workshops, and present your work.
- •Open to community college students meeting DOE eligibility requirements.
DOE Science Undergraduate
Laboratory Internships (SULI)
- •10-week or 16-week research internship at a DOE national laboratory.
- •Engage in STEM research across science, engineering, and computing disciplines.
- •Work under the guidance of lab staff scientists and engineers on real-world projects.
- •Present your research in a poster session at the end of the term.
- •Open to eligible undergraduate students pursuing degrees in STEM fields.
